It's a very good year for bluebells. We have a patch in the garden, in the shelter of Fangorn - our stand of blackthorns - with outliers all over the place. They are rampant along our lane and the oak woods are a joyful explosion of vivid greens and electric blue/mauve. I had a mooch on google and found out that the bulbs are very poisonous and that bluebells tend to trap unwary people due to their connection with fairies. In spite of having haunted the small local oak woods this Spring, I haven't felt the presence of any supernatural beings, but I never pick a bluebell (they die so quickly) so perhaps that's why.
